According to information gathered from eq2players GU36 patch is imminent.

Game Update 36 is headed to the live servers this coming Thursday, the 28th of June.

GU36 features quite some changes to the AA lines, includes a new Epic x4 Zone called “The Throne of New Tunaria” and more:

  • Coin is now weightless and automatically changes up to the best denominations.
  • Want to know how an item would look on you (regardless if you are actually able to equip it)? The new “Dressroom” makes it possible. Just Ctrl + Click on an item link or a store item.
  • The Swords of Destiny quest finds its end in the final chapter 3 that is now available. It results into somewhat nice legendary weapons that can get upgraded to fabled versions by doing a raid in “The Throne of New Tunaria”.
  • You can dismiss your current tradeskill profession to start over from scratch. All your existing recipes and counter arts are lost when doing so.
  • There is quite a bunch of crafting changes to ease your life.
  • Ofcourse this is not all that got changed. An official patch note is not yet available on the SOE forums, but it will get linked here ASAP.

Edit: Patch notes can be found here at the SOE forums.

The Official SOE Podcast #19 was announced some days ago. Unfortunately it did not make it into the RSS feed that is needed to get it onto your iPod. Thanks to the guys and gals at SOE it finally made it into the feed.

    Happy Podcasting.

GU36 will change the appearance of the different tier loams — to make them easier to differentiate.

This is how they will look in the future (click to enlarge):

Just to keep you folks informed:

eq2i.com seems to have migrated to a new set of DNS servers and is available again (or should be available soon) for your pleasure. It might be that some folks will still be unable to access it until DNS changes have propagated throughout the internet. This might take up to 24h.

I reconfigured my reverse proxy to just do a redirect to the real URL.

    Safari 3.0.2 Windows

Today the Apple Software Update tool gave me a hug with the update to 3.0.2 of Safari 3 Beta for Windows. This time Safari is actually able to display my blog header while it had troubles doing so before. Looks like they changed something in the CSS rendering to fix that :-)

eq2i.com calls itself “The EverQuest II reference that anyone can edit.”

Unfortunately it is suffering outages from time to time. At the moment it has DNS problems — that means that the site itself is running fine but noone can access it since your webbrowser does not know how to reach it.

If you are in desperate need to access it anyways then you could just use my reverse proxy http://eq2i.foobar.eu or http://eq2i.fo0bar.org which will bring you directly to your beloved eq2i.com without the hassle of editing some hosts files on your computer.

Please keep in mind to check out eq2i.com availability from time to time since I do not want to draw away users.

Edit: I’ve disabled the possibility to edit eq2i.com articles or to login into eq2i.com while you are using the reverse proxy. This is done to prevent abuse and to ensure that your login credentials are safe.

Edit (2): You might encounter some broken links or pictures while using the reverse proxy. This is due to absolute URLs that cannot get proxied.

Edit (3): DNS issues of eq2i.com seem to be gone.

    Enjoy.

Botheg QA just linked these on Test a bit ago. These are the regular rewards for Swords of Destiny. If you complete a raid part in the New Tunaria raid instance, you’ll get an upgraded version.

Edit: I stole those from the SOE Forums

Please read the complete article to see the rest of the screenshots.
